In November of 1999 we traveled to
France to visit the Catana Factory and sail a Catana 431.

This is the profile of the hull from the
front. Notice the pronounced tulip shape that starts just below the taped
line.
A rudder
The coach roof liner still on the tooling or

The center section of the hull in construction. The outer
hull halves will be joined later.

cockpit sole. Big!
Coach roof in tooling. In some parts the balsa
core has been laid down.
The chain locker and windlass detail. Chain is stored just
in front of the mast to reduce pitching.
The carbon fiber mast.
The underside of a 431. Notice the Lexan hatch on the left
hull. This is the "escape" hatch. Just incase you flip it. The
other hatch on the center hull is for accessing the life raft. It can be
opened from above or below.

The platform can be raised 15' and tilted 45 degrees.
