Destiny - Custom 31

This high performance sailboat was built to an exceptionally high standard with no expenses spared at a construction cost of over 100k in 1984.  In 1992 Destiny was completely refinished with new exterior coatings including a CopperPoxy bottom system.

Construction 5 x 1/8" layers of Western Red Cedar, Cold Molded with West Epoxy System, under a skin of fiberglass with epoxy.
Colors Hull is finished bright, white deck and house with gray non-skid surfaces with AwlGrip Linear Polyurethane, Gold boot top incorporating vessel’s name in gold leaf, white spars with black sail cover.
Spars & Rigging Kenyon tapered aluminum spars with SS standing rigging. Two jib halyards and main halyards are rope to wire. Two spinnaker halyards are Dacron, NAVTEC Hydraulic backstay adjuster and vang. Most running rigging led aft. Twin head foil and running backstays. Keel Stepped Mast.

Deck Equipment
Bow pulpit and double SS lifelines, slotted anodized aluminum toe rail, inboard and outboard Genoa tracks with Merriman blocks.

Most running rigging runs through Schaefer deck organizers and   WB00882_.GIF (263 bytes) 8 Lewmer line stoppers to WB00882_.GIF (263 bytes) 2 Lewmar #16 Self tailing winches on the cabin top.

2 Barient self-tailing winches are located at the mast base to handle the spinnaker halyards. In the cockpit are 6 Arco #40 winches to handle sheets and running backs. WB00882_.GIF (263 bytes) Harken Windward main sheet traveler.

Two overhead hatches for ventilation and sail handling as well as a large teak companionway slider with Lexan Panels.

Spinnaker pole with chocks, 2 aft cowl vents, 3 mooring cleats.

Accommodations
V-berth area forward with bins under for sail and gear storage, Groco marine head to port with hanging locker opposite. Main salon has settee berths port and starboard with storage above, below and behind. Galley is aft to port with SS sink, fresh and seawater manual pumps, Gas Systems two burner gimbaled CNG cook stove with broiler, insulated ice box and dish lockers and dry food storage.
